Pre-engineering in conjunction with Grove School of Enginerring at CCNY
The Lander College Pre-Engineering program is geared for students interested in pursuing careers in any of the engineering fields including electrical, civil and mechanical engineering. This program demands a high level of competence in mathematics and the sciences. The pre-engineering program is completed in three or four semesters at Lander College for Men, at which point students transfer to City College of NY to continue their course of study, specializing in an engineering area of their interest and completing their degree at CCNY.
The Lander College pre-engineering curriculum is designed and based on the courses that CCNY requires of students majoring in any engineering discipline. Thus, the following curriculum is required of all engineering students. At CCNY, students will specialize in an engineering area of their interest and continue to take courses to that end.
Each required or elective course satisfies a requirement or elective at Grove School of Engineering of CCNY (see CCNY/LCM Course Equivalents). Pre-engineering students are not required to satisfy the Lander College core since, under this plan, they complete their studies and receive their degree from City College of New York, not a Lander College for Men degree. The following is a list of required courses offered at Lander College.
