The Lander College for Men is a student centered institution and as such, offers numerous services to help students succeed. They include: the Student Mentoring Program, academic advisement, the Office of Student Counseling, the Office of Career Services, peer tutoring, as well as faculty and rabbinic advisement.

Academic Advisement

Dean Moshe Sokol and Dean Herb Ratner are available to meet and help students with course selection as well as any problems or issues they may be facing. The Office of the Dean prides itself on having an “open door” policy. Likewise, department chairs and professors maintain regularly scheduled office hours and make themselves available to assist their students.

The Office of Student Counseling

Mr. Avi Levy is the college’s counselor. His office is on campus and he is available to students who might benefit from speaking to a mental health professional.

Peer Tutoring

At times, students may need some extra help in a particular class. The college offers free, peer tutoring to all students in a variety of disciplines. Contact Dean Herb Ratner for more information, or speak with your academic advisor.

Rabbinic Advisement

Rabbi Moshe Bamberger is the Mashgiach Ruchani, and he meets and counsels students regularly. The menahel, roshei yeshiva and rebbeim of the Beis Medrash L’Talmud are also widely known for developing close ties with their students, for whom they serve as mentors.

The Office of Career Services

The Office of Career Services helps students with all aspects of conducting an effective career search.  Services provided include helping students assess their own interests and strengths so that their search can ultimately lead to a satisfying and rewarding career.
