He is undecided about his major but is considering studying accounting. “There’s always a demand for accountants in Israel and accountants can pretty much work anywhere,” Abramchayev said about his considerations.

In contrast to the world of accounting, Abramchayev said he’s been interested in the world of philosophy since taking a class on middos in Israel. “I want to influence people around me so that they can lead better lives,” said Abramchayev. “I want to make sure there is less suffering around me and to combat suffering one must realize it exists.” He said his favorite philosopher is either Nietzsche, whom he says people misunderstand, or Scottish philosopher Thomas Carlyle. He is also active in a kiruv organization.

“I’m looking forward to every day at LCM,” said Abramchayev. “It’s such a great experience being around people who are making a conscious choice to be here, learning Torah and pursuing a secular education. We’re doing it because we believe it’s the correct thing to do.”
