Five Questions With: Josh Mandelbaum

November 29, 2012

It can’t be easy entering the financial sector in 2012. Recent Lander College for Men/Lander College for Arts & Sciences alum Josh Mandelbaum graduated with a class who’d been hitting the books throughout our country’s longest economic recession in decades. Madoff, Lehman Brothers, Occupy Wall Street, the duration of President Obama’s first term—it happened while Mandelbaum plugged away at earning his Finance degree, all the while hoping his path on the other side would be clear.

Alumni in Israel meet for a Siyum on Shas

November 12, 2012

Close to 40 alumni attended the dinner at the Entrecote Restaurant in Jerusalem on November 7. Among them was, John Zahtz, who enrolled in LCM’s very first class, and who was introduced to his wife by Rabbi Shmulewitz. John just made aliyah a few months ago with his wife and three kids and he made a siyum on all of shas at the Entrecote dinner. It’s always heartening/gratifying to catch up with LCM graduates and, see how they’re doing and what they’re up to. Come visit!

Extreme Bingo. Sweet.

October 21, 2012

Last night LCM student enjoyed “extreme bingo” and it was really sweet. Played with candy instead of bingo chips, it was truly a challenge to not eat the markers and make it to Bingo.

For those that held out, there were tons of prizes, including nerf guns, clothing, and of course, candy. For those that couldn’t, there was still great food – pizza, sushi, and the candy bingo markers.
