Lander College for Men Celebrates Chag Hasemicha

The theme of the evening was mesorah as 350 people gathered to celebrate with the honorees and applaud the achievements of 26 young men who received rabbinic ordination at Touro’s Lander College for Men Beis Medrash L’Talmud Chag Hasemicha. Family members, alumni, rebbeim, supporters and honorees came together to recognize, reflect and rejoice at the Gala Dinner which was held at Terrace on the Park this past Sunday.

Senior at Touro’s Lander College for Men Wins Powered by Sefaria Contest

Gershon Binder, a senior at Touro’s Lander College for Men, was named grand prize winner in this year’s Powered by Sefaria contest. The contest invites the Jewish developer community to use Sefaria’s free digital dataset of Biblical texts to improve the landscape of online Torah learning. Participants are challenged to combine the latest technology with the digitized and translated ancient texts. Binder, 25, of Kew Gardens Hills, created Sefaria Chavrusa, a bilingual text-to-speech feature for online learning, as his winning entry.

Touro’s Lander College for Men Celebrates Musmachim and Honors Community Leaders

Lander College for Men—Beis Medrash L’Talmud (LCM) will hold a Chag HaSemicha Ceremony and Gala Dinner to honor 24 musmachim and community leaders. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 6 at 5 p.m. at Terrace on the Park in Queens, New York.
