Avodas Hashem, Academic Studies, and the World of Work

September 15, 2016

Lander College for Men/Beis Medrash L’Talmud offers an intensive learning program combined with a rigorous college education. While some alumni enter the fields of Jewish education or the rabbinate, many pursue careers in the professions, business and industry. These lectures, which draw upon a rich variety of classical Jewish sources and speak to the very mission of the school, explore Jewish attitudes towards academic study, the value of work, the appropriate balance between the study of Torah and the pursuit of a career, criteria for the choice of a career, and the opportunities to sanctify God’s name in the workplace.
