Jacob Newman, Ph.D.

Dr. Jacob Newman received a BA degree in chemistry from Rutgers-Newark College of Arts and Sciences in 2001, as well as a bachelor's degree in ancient history. Dr. Newman received his MA degree from Columbia University in 2003 and a Ph.D in applications of NMR spectroscopy to problems in art conservation from NYU in 2008. Dr. Newman's research is focused on X-ray crystallography of crystalline keto-carboxylic acids and he continues to be interested in art conservation, miniature model building, amateur radio, and history of the ancient Near East, along with an abiding interest in quantum chemistry and physics.
