Yakov Peter, PhD

Dr. Peter received his PhD in Molecular Genetics and completed postdoctoral training in cell biology and pulmonary medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Interested in epithelial stem cells in cancer and disease, his laboratory, which includes a team of outstanding student researchers, has published several papers on epithelial stem cell regeneration, lung pathologies, and cancer. Dr. Peter is affiliated with the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at New York Medical College and the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He teaches the Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology courses.
