Marketing/Management Major
Marketing and management are combined into one department at LCM, highlighting how closely connected these disciplines are in the business world. With this major, you’ll gain a strong understanding of marketing and how it relates to a business’s health and bottom line. You’ll also master skills in research, data analysis, and presentation that are in demand with employers.
“I really enjoyed how the classes included projects to simulate running a campaign and branding projects to simulate marketing activities. My internship with the National Council of Synagogue Youth was my first real exposure to actualizing what I had learned in theory.”
- Simcha Himmel LCM '15, MBA, software business analyst
Hands-On Preparation and In-Depth Support
Lander graduates typically continue their studies in business school or go on to work at major ad agencies and corporations. Most students who major in marketing are interested in careers in business development, sales, advertising, and product design.
Our curriculum is intentionally designed to ground you both in business theory and in its practical application, so you’ll be prepared to contribute on the job from Day One.
Individual advising from LCM’s experienced faculty and career services staff also helps you plan your career right from the start. And you’ll be in class with just a few students (often less than 10), making it easier to get the one-on-one support you need to balance a full course load and daily shiurim.
Professional Tools that Give You an Edge
Along with marketing fundamentals, you can choose from classes with an applied focus such as digital marketing, social media marketing, market research, and consumer behavior.
LCM students have access to industry-standard tools to make sure you’re well-prepared for the workforce. From advanced consumer insights to leading-edge project management and presentation software, you'll gain the skills needed to thrive in a professional environment. You’ll also examine case studies of actual corporations and use your critical thinking skills to create business or marketing plans that help expand their reach.
Course Spotlight: Advertising and Promotion Management
This deep dive into effective promotional strategy explores tactics such as advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, sponsorship, direct marketing, e-commerce, and public relations. Students choose a business plan and produce a campaign plan book integrating the concepts explored, as well as add digital/social media marketing elements such as mock ups of a campaign web site, Facebook page and X (Twitter) account.
